Happy 71st His Holiness The Dalai Lama!
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama ( Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso) turns 71 today =) I remember the last time I attended his teachings here in Tucson.....the man cracked me up!.....
At one point....someone asked a rather assinine question. I thought to myself after acknowledging the stupidity of the question..."well...lets see how he handles this". I expected him to gloss over it and give a obligatory quick standard answer because well....he IS the Dalai Lama. Well...anyone who studies Buddhism knows one of the first rules is "no expectations...that only leads to disappointments". I can tell you...I wasnt disappointed at his answer.....in fact I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
After his private translator told him the question.....he paused (as he always does), waved his hand in the air across on front of his face, and blurted out..."stupid question!"......NEXT!
OMG....we all just lost it!

it will be a sad day when he leaves us this time around for the next life. or is that a stupid comment?
please, what was the nature of the question which he so readily dismissed?
I know Brico...I know.....that will be a VERY sad day....and very accurate of a statement...I just wonder if the prophecy is correct that his successsor will be ID'd here in the west?.....
*** re the question?....I cant remember! I'll ask Stuart since he was sitting next to me laughing his butt off too when it happened.......
