~~~Jaw-Dropping Performance~~~
Took Stu-Beans to Cirque de Soleil Delirium Tuesday Nite for his b-day celebration. We had front row seats.... & the price was well worth it! Of course, like any Cirque de Soleil show......it bordered on an acid trip....dream sequence with really (did I mention really) HOT, 1/2 nekkid performers who did things with their bodies that just seem physically impossible!
They were only in town for a two-night performance. What boggles my mind is the statistics of this show...... for 2 nights?
  • A 130 foot two-sided stage bisects the arena, submerging the audience in the huge set.
  • 540 feet of projections dominate the scene - the equivalent in width of almost four IMAX screens
  • The two-sided stage is 130 feet long by 20 feet wide with musical and acrobatic action occupying the entire scene at all times.
  • requires enough equipment as two mega rock concerts. It is hauled across North America, set up and dismantled within just a few hours in every new city.
  • Above the stage, 2 special rail bridges designed especially for DELIRIUM support 130 000 pounds of equipment.
  • 20 18-wheel trailers transport the technical equipment from arena to arena.In all, 14 tour buses transport the artists and the crew.
  • There are 145 people on the tour, including 45 artists, 75 technicians and 25 management and artistic support personnel.
& of course......here are some pictures:
Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing. I've only seen one show, but walked away from it in a cloud of awe.
I love watching them...I saw them once in Vegas and loved it...well...i didn't like that clown walking around in the audience. I really don't like clowns and I was afraid he was going to venture my way...
Wow. Usually when I see the words "Cirque de Soleil", I smirk, I put on my Shirt of Mocking and my sarcasm pants and prepare for a French-flavored tongue lashing, but...these pics look pretty cool. I might have to check 'em out.
On TV.
That way I can still mock them, if needed.
We saw Corteo this summer and it was incredible. My older daughter is a Cirque fiend and has gone to four performances this year--three in Vegas, lucky girl.
