10 Things for 10 People.......

Rules : List ten things you want to say to ten people you know but you never will, for whatever reason…Don’t say who they are…Use each person only once:

Okay…..this little posting exercise has been making the rounds for a while now. I originally read it over HERE at Addicts. I have also read it on quite a few of my regulars haunts in the last two weeks. I would have to say, for those who have participated 'it’s a good thing…' as Martha says.

Originally ……I had asked Addict if I could borrow it….and whoever may have read her list, comments and browsed over to my BLOG to read mine, probably thought I blew it off. Well…quite the opposite. I’ve been obsessed by the idea of this post and not been able to put into words until now why I haven't participated.

Why you ask?......

Well, while I agree this is a wonderful cathartic experience, by participating in it I would be admitting not meeting my daily goal. If, in fact, I have 10 things for 10 people in my life to purge, barf out, release, whatever you want to call it…..then I have to admit to not living true to myself.

In reality, I have been carrying this self-realization around since I first thought about doing this exercise. Sure, I could cop-out and write 10 things for 10 people that I don’t have access to any longer…….(due to death, geographical roadblocks, or faded friendships), and I actually began thinking of what I would write to a few of those people….but then I realized if I really have something to say……its my responsibility to either pick up the phone and say it ….or ‘let it go’.

Just the other day, I was called on this behavior……one that I guess I have been fooling myself about. I was asked “what are you thinking”….and I answered “nothing” as many of us have done in conversations where we are unsure of where they are going.

I have to thank that person next time I see them. But will I ?? LOL Do they even read this BLOG?? I guess we’ll see huh?.......

I also must stay more cognizant of my promise to myself to live more true. This means I have to break down the walls I have built in some of my relationships….be vulnerable again….and risk.

Wish me luck …….Blessed Be BF’s.

so does the 'BF' stand for 'Boy Friends'?
i just noticed that when i curse over your type it switches to a standard arial font. i know youre cleverer than to simply put a bland ole arial type as your scroll over default font. which means my compluter doesnt have the font youve declared as the default. if you so desired, you could email me the font, i will install it and then i can see your blog as it is meant to be.
thanks

BF's means blogfriends......vs. IRL in real life.

Nothing else to say about the post tho ?!? come on man...I know you have an opinion or two!

This sort of takes PostSecret to a different level. Like you said, if you can write it then you can't say it and for you - you're not being the person you want. For me? I'd never even send a post card in so I certainly wouldn't 1) want to face those issues myself, and 2) share them with Blog land. The things that I'd want to say if I gave the time to formulate the thought/sentence; I wouldn't want to face really. Some times the ostrich is just happier.

Wow! Perspective is an amazing thing... while I whole heartedly about one being true to themselves and their feeling/thoughts (I'm working on the *practice* part), it never even occured to me when doing my 10 things list to actually *say* any of those things (with probably 3 exceptions).
It amazes me that things so simple and true can be difficult to see, unless someone else see's it first!
